This... the drawing on this item is actually a rose from the snowfield. It's the very rose that Dr. De Lang gave me for his very first present. It's a silver pendant with the rose from the snowfield engraved on... Dr. De Lang had promised to give me this as a present, but... if you found this at his home, then... you really must have met with him...

I have no clue what Dr. De Lang's studies were. Maybe he was experimenting with something very dangerous. Even so... the way the presidents of both societies have acted since his disappearance unnerves me. They went to his house, and completely sealed it off from the rest of the world. They even barred me from the place, and I'm his wife.

Not only that, but the two heads thoroughly searched De Lang's house, and decided to stay mum, as if they signed a confidential agreement. Since everyone's staying mum about the whole subject, other alchemists began speculating about De Lang, and the more they speculate, the worse his image got. I even heard a rumor that Dr. De Lang wanted to become the Black Magician...

I know in my heart that that's not true. De Lang is a peaceful, quiet man who just wanted to help others through his experiments with Life Alchemy. I don't believe he was conducting the experiment for the wrong reason.

Zenumist and Alcadno. They are both hiding the truth behind what happened with Dr. De Lang. Those two can't stand one another, and yet they cooperate on this. They are hiding the truth from all of us, and I can't trust the ones that do that.

I don't know what the truth holds. I ... do know that it is strongly tied to the very existence of Magatia as a whole.

Even if De Lang really committed a substantial crime... that's okay. I'd rather find out the truth.
